About the Doctor
Dr. Lusskin is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and an Attending in Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
She is the Director of Psychopharmacologic Agents for the Reproductive Toxicology Center, a Non-Profit Foundation which operates Reprotox®, a computerized database on the reproductive and developmental effects of drugs including during pregnancy and lactation (www.reprotox.org).
She has published on topics in reproductive psychiatry and perinatal psychopharmacology in major medical journals and is a peer reviewer for Birth Defects Research, Archives of Women’s Mental Health, and Journal of Women’s Health among others. She founded the Reproductive Psychiatry Program at the New York University School of Medicine where she served on the faculty through 2012. In 2013, she founded the Mount Sinai Reproductive Psychiatry Journal Club which she continues to lead.
In 2019, Dr. Lusskin gave the first lecture in Russia and the former Soviet republics on perinatal psychopharmacology. She has also lectured in Europe, India, Brazil, Israel, Canada, South Africa (virtual), Australia (virtual), and Brazil (virtual).
Dr. Lusskin has been selected as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor and as a Castle Connolly Exceptional Woman in Medicine since 2018.
Dr. Lusskin is a graduate of Williams College where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She graduated from the NYU Grossman School of Medicine and the Psychiatry Residency Program at Bellevue Hospital and NYU Langone Medical Center. Dr. Lusskin is a past-president of the Society of the Alumni of Bellevue Hospital and remains active in the society.
